Neon Fashion: Exploding in 2019
Neon is here to stay: Thailand Clothing manufacturers meeting the demand
When you look at what’s happening at fashion shows, especially during the last few months, it’s clear that there is a rebirth of various retro trends. Shoulder-padded power suits, tie-die cycling shorts, and neon colors – all essentially an 80’s fashion trends. This phenomenon started last year where a lot of fluorescent shades were seen on catwalks yet people were skeptical, thinking it was just something that was passing and would not take off in mass market fashion, but the 2019 fashion scene has proven them wrong. Every major fashion city on the planet was full to capacity with lime green and bright yellow but there was also flame orange and even bright pink. It was clear to all fashion minded people that this is a phenomenon in which was going to be around for a considerable amount of time. The question is what exactly should be done with it?
Breaking into this trend: How fashion gurus see it
The advice of fashion gurus is that people should start with casual street wear because this might make it easier to learn how to style bright shades. Those who have been watching the fashion shows in the last couple of months should be well aware that many of the models have been attired with subtle splashes of neon while others were covered in Neon colors from head to toe. Several of the leading designers were in action, such as the house of Holland, Blumarine, Annakiki, Jasper Conram, and Natasha Zinko. However, it was House of Holland that made the biggest impression with a wide variety of day dresses, three-piece tracksuits and also casual suits.
Thai clothing manufacturers – a safe bet:
One of the undisputed leaders among garment manufacturers in Thailand today is SUPA International clothing factory, which has seen a healthy demand for a wide range of neon colored garments, especially during the last six months. According to a statement by Mallika Kosolsak the head of the production at SUPA International, the company started to see increasing demand for neon colored garments, especially in the color green, in the second quarter of 2018. Manufacturers have seen how these trends have influenced fashion brands and retailers, resulting in an increasing demand which has to be filled by manufacturers. Although neon green colors remained popular, other neon colors have begun to emerge and increase in popularity, such as yellow, pink and also orange. A shining example of this trend is UK streetwear brand, RAITH clothing. Their 2019 neon collection is manufactured in Thailand by SUPA International factory.
Neon green this Spring
There were other interesting things seen during the spring of 2019 on the fashion runways across the globe. There was psychedelia coming from designer Marine Serre, with the acid green sweaters. The one thing that people were curious about is how all of the electric colors and modern textures would fit into the lives of the average fashion consumer. It turns out that the average consumer, not just fashionistas, are now willing to add neon colored garments to their wardrobe.
Staying in fashion
If you want to be on trend in 2019 and maintain your fashionista status, then your wardrobe should contain several neon garment creations, as fashion gurus are convinced this is going to be the ‘in thing’ for a considerable length of time. The louder the colors the better, but also wear it with confidence and with pride and you’re certain to make a very clear fashion statement. Don’t neglect those saturated shades which will be expected in all fashion circles throughout the year. Neon colors such as green, orange and fuchsia are sure choices for those who want to stand out. The secret seems to be in the mixing and matching of shades – nothing is too loud or to over the top when it comes to bright colors this season.
It started with pink
Apparently, the new neon trend started with ‘millennial pink’ which was quickly followed by ‘generation-Z yellow ‘and then came melodramatic purple. But out of all of them, the new color which has caught the most attention is neon green. Wearing this color is certain to ensure that you are noticed regardless of where you may find yourself. Going to a party wearing neon will guarantee that absolutely no one will miss you as you walk past them. The clincher as far as neon green is concerned is the fact that just about every celebrity was wearing a shade of neon green sometime during the latter part of 2018 and this has filtered down to mainstream fashion in 2019, as you can see it being worn by people on the streets of most cities around the world, from Los Angeles to Shanghai.
Celebrities love the neon green
Neon green is frequently seen on celebrity Instagram accounts and this has been happening for some time. Among those accounts are those belonging to some of the most well-known personalities in the fashion industry today; all of them seem to be embracing this latest fashion trend. The question is how the average person can best incorporate this dramatic color into their everyday wardrobe. For those people who have the necessary boldness and who dare to be different, they should simply adorn themselves from head to toe in neon green and then see for themselves why this dramatic shade has been having the fashion world on its toes for almost a year now. One daring actress, Ashley Graham, back in August was the first one to appear at an event in neon green – since then the fashion world has been fascinated by this amazingly bold color and now everyone wants to wear it.
Others are joining in
Since that first encounter, last August many other celebrities have gotten on the bandwagon – one excellent example is Elsa Hosk, the well known Victoria’s Secret model. But there was also Kylie Jenner’s lime green swimwear which had mixed reactions, while many other celebrities have been seen in various shades of neon green especially on social media platforms such as Instagram.
