Trump is a leading favorite to win a second term, Russian betting companies state

Most Americans anticipate the next presidential elections which will take place in 2020 just like a political occasion, but in countries where a betting business has fewer restrictions, it is considered as a top event for a bet.

For example, in Russia, you can bet on the elections in the USA right now – a year and a half before they take place.

“In our country different kinds of bets are popular. You can bet not only on sports, but on different political events or music contests and TV-series as well, be it a plot twist or the death of the main character”, the chief-editor of analytical bets web-portal Bookmaker Ratings Andrey Bodrov says.

“Traditionally Russian people like to follow the presidential elections in the USA since Reagan (days).

They are considered as an exciting event with the uncompromising struggle of the candidates. The Russians believe in the transparency of the electing process, but the results can be treated sometimes as a wonder. Bet on such occasions is venturesome, so plenty of betting companies accept bets on them.

Russian betting company Parimatch offers -143 for the victory of the Democratic Party and +120 for the success of the Republican Party. If the independent candidate wins, the odd +5000 plays.

“According to the betting odds, the Democrats are the elections favorites with the chances about 56%. The success of the Republicans is less possible – 43,8%. And not more than 0,2% is for the victory of any independent candidate,”  Bodrov says.

“As for names, the second Donald Trump’s presidential term is the most likely to happen. The next contender is Joe Biden, but his chances to celebrate the victory are estimated as 16%. The third favorite is Bernie Sanders with 14%. In addition to this, one Russian betting company offers to bet on the actor Dwayne Johnson and TV host Oprah Winfrey, but their chances to become a president can be estimated in 0,1% combined.
