A 2019 guide to buying an engagement ring

When you reach a certain age there are a lot of things you have to do. You have to get a full-time job, start to fend for yourself and start paying off a mortgage.

These are all things that no one wants to do but unfortunately, they’re unavoidable. Another ordeal we have to go through which makes all of these pale in comparison is proposing to our loved ones (if you want to get married, of course).

This is without a doubt one of the most pressurized situations any of us will ever experience but we do have to go through it. You can’t go in empty-handed, though, and that’s why you have to kit up with an engagement ring. Just if you thought it couldn’t get any worse, however, choosing one of these is no easy task either. However, it can be done if you have a good plan. Here’s a 2019 guide to buying an engagement ring.

The first thing you need to do regarding buying an engagement ring is sort out where you’re going to buy it from in the first place. Believe me now when I say it’s not wise to walk into the first shop you see and buy one from there- there will most likely be much better options out there that you just haven’t explored yet. Different shops have different ideas and styles and you should take your time to figure out which one suits you and your partner.

To do this, I’d suggest something pretty simple in just visiting as many jewelry stores as possible. They should all have a very good selection of rings available for you to check out and by doing this in a variety of different shops you can start to make a well-informed decision. Do you like the shop itself? What about the staff, and the rings they have available? All of these factors should have an impact on your final decision.

However, this may not be for you. A lot of people don’t enjoy shopping for engagement rings in person as they feel too much pressure and don’t like people judging them. If you are one of these people, shopping online could be for you- and this brings a lot of advantages.

First, you would be able to check out whatever rings you like even if they are out of stock in store. This is because there will still be a lot of images available to look at and form an opinion on. Prices will be easily accessible and you’ll be able to see right from the beginning whether you’ll be able to afford certain rings.

If shopping online for a ring, you’ll be able to refine your searches as well. This means you can search for rings based on a number of things (their price or the stone they have, for example). Personalizing your searches will enable you to find a good ring much quicker and send you on the way to conquering the proposal phase!
