50s Jazz Cocktail Party at Maryland Historical Society
Emily (aka Yinzerella from Dinner Is Served 1972) and I were lucky enough to be invited to cover The Maryland Historical Society’s 50s Jazz Cocktail Party for the Baltimore Post-Examiner on Thursday, May 19th! Super cool event with lots of free booze and food, jazz piano by acclaimed Baltimore musician Lafayette Gilchrist, and a chance to check out some of the museum’s massive collection, including a Eubie Blake portable piano and a giant mastodon!
Thanks to The Maryland Historical Society, for graciously hosting us and ignoring Emily’s foul mouth, and to Lafayette Gilchrist, for providing the soundtrack for the evening, and thus for this video. Big thanks, too, to fellow writer Emily for being my gorgeous, albeit slightly uncouth date.
