This is a photo of some of the selfless volunteers who helped to put on the “People’s 8th Annual BBQ for the Homeless.”
This year’s event was held on Saturday, August 31, right next to the fabled Shot Tower. The prime organizer for the special happening, and the cook par excellence was Duane “Shorty” Davis himself (center).
He is well known around town not only for his “Bootleg BBQ,” but for his many charitable endeavors.
Shorty welcomed the strong support again this year of Teyana Hudson (standing to his left) of the Skylyne Foundation; and all the volunteers, with their family members, who showed up to support this laudable effort. In my humble opinion, this is part of what makes Baltimore such a great city.
