What is it?
If someone asked you to describe what you thought hemp powder was, your answer would probably go something like: “Some powder made from Indian hemp?” If you said this, you’d be right…up to a point. Generally, animal proteins are much easier for our bodies to digest than plant proteins, but not so with the proteins in hemp powder, thanks to its fiber content. Research shows that 91% to 98% of the proteins in it are digestible.
What does it do?
You already know that hemp powder is rich in protein, which can help you build muscle bulk and supply your body with necessary amino acids. However, did you know it’s also rich in unsaturated fats and antioxidants?
Unsaturated fats are considered “good fats” that have been shown to help promote good cardiac health. The antioxidants help protect our bodies from oxidative damage. What this means is that there are chemicals called free radicals in the body that tend to bind to tissues and cause damage over time. Antioxidants like the ones found in hemp powder bind to these free radicals and eliminate them from the body.
