Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum reopens
Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake was the keynote speaker Saturday at the ceremony marking the reopening of the historic Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum. She noted that the area had special significance for her “on many different levels.”
The Mayor pointed out that her late father “grew-up in the Poe Homes,” [a city housing project just north of the area.] She added how pleased she was that “the lovers of Edgar Allan Poe from around this city, this state and the world are making sure that his legacy is preserved, in partnership.”
Excerpts of the Mayor’s talk are included. To learn more, go to “Poe Baltimore.”
