Eaten By An Immigrant
A Whimsical Ode to Missing Animals Everywhere
Hello, I am Felix
golly gee
Heaven is oh
so heavenly
my soul is here
the rest was rent
Eaten by an Immigrant
My pal is Quackers
that crazy duck
once waddled free
now out of luck
his feathers had
a pleasant scent
Eaten by an Immigrant
There perched on high
is Old Baldy
the patriots pride
proud as could be
one swoop too low
and down he went
Eaten by an Immigrant
Our stately swan
aptly named Stew
resided at
The Springfield Zoo
a pinch of salt
a sprig of mint
Eaten by an Immigrant
Let’s ne’er forget
feisty Fido
a sacrificial
lamb below
his hide will hang
inside a tent
Eaten by an Immigrant
Even Lightning wasn’t
fast enough
to cross the field
and crest the bluff
a stolen Colt
a few shells spent
Eaten by an Immigrant
We could attest
to many more
snatched out of trees
or off the shore
“Send these, the homeless”
iconic lament
Eaten by an Immigrant
