9 Amazing Health Benefits of Weed You Didn’t Know About!

Modern research shows that cannabis can help to treat a wide range of health problems. But the FDA has yet to deem marijuana effective for treating medical conditions. Cannabidiol, which is a substance found in marijuana did receive approval in 2018 to treat some forms of epilepsy.

This amazing weed has been used by humans for thousands of years as an herbal medicine. Only in the last one hundred years has the use of hemp and marijuana become criminal.

Benefits of This Amazing Weed

There are many glowing reports about all the health effects of cannabis and cannabinoids. Weed helps with reducing inflammation, providing pain relief and helping to stimulate the appetite in patients suffering from AIDS and cancer.

CBD oil continues to gain popularity because of the movement to legalize marijuana throughout the United States, as well as abroad. As more people use this therapeutic plant, we will likely see even more reports of the benefits of weed.

Regulate and Prevent Diabetes

There is promising news for using cannabis to treat both types of diabetes. Cannabis may have the ability to stabilize sugar levels, lower high blood pressure, prevent nerve inflammation and improve circulation.

The THC in cannabis can suppress the autoimmune response that occurs in Type I diabetes.

For Type II diabetics, CBD could even out an endocannabinoid imbalance which can make it difficult for people to lose weight.

There are even more benefits that can help with the many complications of diabetes. Cannabis can help with these side effects of diabetes:

  • Insulin resistance
  • Skin complications
  • Cardiovascular complications
  • Neuropathy
  • High blood pressure
  • Retinopathy

Fights Nausea

Cannabis can help with nausea resulting from various ailments. One beneficial use of cannabis is to treat nausea in cancer patients going through chemotherapy.

The American Cancer Society would like to conduct further research on cannabis. But it believes that because marijuana is a Schedule I controlled substance, there are too many conditions imposed upon it to conduct proper research.

Helps Regulate Seizures

Another substantial finding is that medical cannabis can regulate seizures for people with epilepsy.

In fact, in June of 2108, the FDA approved EPIDIOLEX, derived from CBD to treat seizures that occur from two types of epilepsy, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome. This treatment has been approved for use in people from the age of two and up.

In fact, EPIDIOLEX is the first FDA approved medication for treating the seizures experienced in Dravet syndrome.

Helps PTSD and Other Mental Health Disorders

The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have resulted in many veterans coming home with PTSD. But not all PTSD is combat related. Any traumatic experience could put a person’s adrenaline into overdrive.

Cannabinoids can prevent the trigger of traumatic memories and promote better sleep. PTSD sufferers can begin to live a more normal life.

Depression is a very widespread condition in America. Cannabis restores the normal endocannabinoid function which helps to stabilize moods and lessen depression.

CBD can regulate anxiety helping those who suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). This allows them to function better in their everyday life.

CBD oil can help people to get control over panic attacks as well. Be aware that the THC that comes from smoking weed could cause panic attacks. CBD and THC are two different types of cannabinoids found in marijuana.

Bipolar disorder can be helped with CBD and hemp oil. Researchers believe it is the Omega 3 fatty acids that are responsible for helping people with Bipolar disorder.

Slows the Development of Alzheimer’s Disease

A study published in 2014, found that THC used in small doses can slow the development of Alzheimer’s. More research needs to be done over the long-term to come to any real conclusions. Even so, cannabis can help with other Alzheimer’s symptoms such as agitation, insomnia and lack of appetite.

Can Ease Multiple Sclerosis Symptoms

Multiple Sclerosis is a disease that attacks the central nervous system. Cannabis has been shown to alleviate inflammation, tremors, spasms and pain for those suffering from M.S.

Relieves Arthritis

The cannabinoids in weed can help inflammation which is one of the symptoms of arthritis. Cannabis can also reduce the pain that accompanies arthritis.

This means that patients will not have to rely solely on harmful prescription medications and NSAIDs (non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs).

Alternative Treatment for Headaches

The most common treatment for headaches is to take acetaminophen or ibuprofen. These over-the-counter medications can take a toll on your body, resulting in liver damage, ulcers, internal bleeding and other long-term side effects.

Cannabis is a natural alternative that can fight headaches and migraines, and won’t destroy your stomach lining.

Can Help Treat the Cancer-Causing Herpes Virus

The THC in cannabis can prevent the spreading of the herpes virus that causes cancer in some AIDS patients.

THC is more effective in treating gamma herpes viruses than the most common antiviral drugs typically used. Of course, more studies will have to be done but the preliminary research looks promising.

Investment Opportunities

In 2018, the Farm Bill was passed which legalized the extraction of CBD from the hemp plant. The result of this legalization is that CBD oil products are being sold everywhere, making this one of the fastest growing investment opportunities in recent years.

Because of the legalization of both medicinal and recreational use of marijuana across the United States, this could be the perfect time to invest in cannabis penny stocks and IPOs. As with all investing, be sure that you research carefully to make the most informed decisions.

Spread the Word

While marijuana and CBD show promise, it’s important to be realistic. There are both marijuana pros and cons. It can be misused and abused. But this amazing weed and all its benefits should be made available to those who need it without the current stigma that is attached.

As the legalization of medicinal and recreational marijuanabecomes more widespread, more research will be done. Social attitudes are starting to shift about the benefits of marijuana which will result in increased funding.

The future of cannabis research looks promising which will result in greater health benefits for all.
