Trümmelbach Falls: Natural wonder in the Lauterbrunnen Valley
In the middle of the Lauterbrunnen Valley in Switzerland is a natural wonder unlike anything I’ve ever seen: Trümmelbach Falls. These are a series of waterfalls that are still in the process of cutting their way through the stone cliffs along the side of the valley, and as a result many of the falls are completely contained inside the cliff. It looks like a scene straight out of The Goonies!
What I found most impressive (and humbling) was just how powerful the water was, and how if you stood there long enough, you could literally see it sawing its way through the rock. It was like watching the Grand Canyon being created before my eyes.
