Howard County to break ground on Extended North Tunnel to mitigate flooding in Ellicott City

After years of devastating flooding, Ellicott City is set to break ground on the Extended North Tunnel: an underground flooding mitigation system. The tunnel is expected to push 26,000 gallons of water per second from the North end of the city to the Patapsco River.
