Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake: ‘Stop the Gun Violence!’
On the anniversary of the horrific Newtown, CT slayings, a “Call for Remembrance and Resolve,” ceremony was held on the morning of Dec. 14th at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Baltimore. Sadly the event comes in the wake of another Colorado school shooting that has left a 15-year-old critically wounded, and the suspected teen shooter dead.
The Maryland Chapter of the “MOMS Demand Action for Common Sense” sponsored the ceremony. The principal speaker was Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
She called for an end to gun violence. She urged lawmakers to “be bold, be courageous…and to work to create great change.”
Deal Hal Hayek of the Cathedral delivered the opening prayer and Jenifer Pauliukonis of MOMS Demand Action did the introductions.
