How to keep your nails healthy

It’s important that you follow regular nail care procedures this way it results in healthy nails that you can be proud of. Your nail care plan can be simple and inexpensive or as comprehensive as you please. In fact, being overly aggressive with cleaning and maintaining nails might actually put your normally strong nails at risk for yeast or bacterial infections. You won’t need frequent manicures to maintain good looking nails if you follow some simple tips.

You can start by following these simple steps:

1. Try Taking Biotin: If you follow a healthy diet and lifestyle, you shouldn’t have to take any additional supplements to strengthen your nails. If you don’t, biotin is a great supplement. It has been shown to be helpful for strengthening and growing your nails. Many people admit that they have had success strengthening their nails by taking biotin daily.

2. Enjoy Nail Polish: It’s ok to wear nail polish, it won’t harm your healthy nails. You should, however, give your nails a break here and there. Just be careful you don’t use any harmful chemicals.

3. Moisturize Your Cuticles: Your cuticles play an important role in you having healthy nails. Make sure you don’t overcut them or push them around too aggressively so you don’t damage them. You should try moisturizing your cuticles and not even try pushing them back or trimming them at all.  You don’t want to take a chance to catch an infection.

4. Always Keep Nails Trimmed: It not only makes your nails look cleaner and more presentable, but it helps maintain healthy nails and helps avoid snagging and breaking. Depending on how fast your nails grow determines how often you need to trim them.

5. Clean With a Nail Brush: Many women tend to rigorously clean under their nails using long, pointy tools.  This causes nail damage because doing so leaves a gap between the nail and the nail bed. This usually tends to lead to infection. Instead of doing this just scrub gently with a nail brush for healthier nails.

6. Wear Dish Gloves: Putting your hands in hot soapy water frequently to wash dishes can weaken even the strongest nails. Wearing gloves helps protect your nails while doing the dishes

7. Take Infections Seriously: It’s important to address infections as soon as you notice them. Just like any other disease, the sooner you catch it the better the odds are of getting rid of it. Check-in with your doctor immediately if you notice any type of infection or if something just doesn’t look right. Sometimes a doctor will need to prescribe medication to get rid of the infection.

8. Use Good Acrylic Powder: Acrylic Powder for nails and liquid are widely used and very popular for nail extensions, throughout the world. Most of you probably use it on clients and/or yourselves quite regularly. When the liquid touches the acrylic powder, it doesn’t melt the powder. Instead, the liquid, which has adhesion properties, bonds all the little droplets, or pieces of powder together to create the nail. Each powder particle of the polymerized monomer is coated with an activator.

Good nail hygiene is very important. You want to make sure to keep your nails looking good, fresh, and healthy at all times. Following the above tips can help you better care for your nails and avoid any serious nail issues. Most pay a lot of money to get their nails done.
