Fifty Shades of Tarot: Interpreting the Tower

Following on from my initial introduction into the fifty shades of tarot, this week I have chosen the Tower card which is, in my opinion, the worst and the best card in the deck as it connects to your core foundations being shaken and big changes that lie ahead in a more positive way. Perhaps though, the issues that arise are not the ones you foreseen however, from these changes comes a whole a new foundation.
In the sensual side of things, when this card is in the reversed position it’s a bedroom nightmare come true as it brings with it links to things like: erectile issues, problems surrounding intimacy and a lack of libido. The fact is things may not be functioning the way you would like them too in the sexual arena. It can be one of those times when you are left feeling inadequate and it’s certainly not great for your confidence in the bedroom department.
This could be due to stress related issue in or around the person’s life that have become all encompassing for them and or a phase which, may not last forever but while things are like this, it is a vicious cycle of emotions.
It is important to remember that this is a very powerful card that does contain passion and desire so — keep that at the forefront of your mind as staying positive will help you to turn things around.
When the card is in the upright position well, pew, look out as its hot, heavy and all about sheer raw lust that takes over. Meaning that at times it can be a kind of Wham, Bam, Thank You Mam — which is perhaps all right in the heat of the moment but, not what you would want all the time.
The tower is, as I have already said, about shaking things up a bit and clearing out the old in preparation for the new and so, at this point you may be looking at exploring new ways to get your sexual highs and they will need to be somewhat different to the norm to satisfy your desires. Whatever the case, this is not about the romantic, lovey-dovey stuff, its hard-core [excuse the pun] sex and plenty of it but in a sex-for-the-sake-of-it sense.
The card calls for balance as sex is possibly being used as a substitute for something else that is not being addressed and so, as they say, a little of what you fancy does you good, but too much can kill the moment of a more “tender loving connection” dead in its tracks.
This being the case, it could be a partner off or a partner presenting issues where there were none to begin with — communication is the key, this way you are able to balance the sexual burning desires with a more connected loving union.
I should add that we are discussing the sensual side of the cards so, if you are having a reading and this card shows up it is not always connected with what I have discussed and the other cards around it would be taken into consideration to tell the whole story as with any reading.

Joan was born and lives in Scotland by the River Clyde. Over the past 30 years Joan’s journey had taken many a winding turn and to places she never thought she would end up, for example: in theatre touring the UK delivering messages from the spirit world – it’s a far cry from her thoughts as a teenager about writing a cookery book however, she did manage the book which is called “ An Angel Walked Beside Me” published by Harper Collins which contains stories about and from Psychic children and not a recipe in sight. Joan has worked extensively in the media covering everything from haunted locations to druid gatherings. She might not be Scully from the X Files but she is well clued up on all things mystical and works on Skype with clients worldwide. You can see more about her at: www.joancharles.co.uk
