Columbia Mall Shooting: Police say so far no connection between victims and shooter
A press briefing was called Sunday evening at the Columbia Mall. It featured Howard County Executive Ken Ulman and the Police Chief Bill McMahon. They brought the press up to date on the police investigation into the killings of Brianna Benlolo, 21, and Tyler Johnson,25, that occurred at the Mall on Saturday morning. They also gave out the latest information they have on the suspected gunman, Darion Marcus Aguilar, 19, who killed himself at the scene.
A short Q&A period followed Chief McMahon’s remarks. The Chief underscored that, as of now, his investigators have not been able to substantiate any relationship between the victims and the shooter. Several media reports suggested Benlolo and the shooter knew each other. Police have not confirmed that report.
