Russell Neverdon to run for Baltimore’s State’s Attorney
Russell Neverdon announced Wednesday that he will running for the office of State’s Attorney in Baltimore.
He blamed “inefficient prosecutions” for the backlog of cases in the criminal court system and promised “changes” when he is elected.
The incumbent State’s Attorney is Gregg Bernstein. Neverdon is a Democrat and he hails from West Baltimore. The Rev. Dr. A.C.D. Vaughn made the opening remarks at the press conference, which was held in front of the Battle Monument and across from the Mitchell Court House.
Marilyn Mosby, a former prosecutor, also has filed for the state’s attorney job. Her husband, Nick Mosby, is a member of the City Council. Like Mosby is from West Baltimore.
