New Mercury Readings brings out some of the best local authors
The popular nonfiction series, “The New Mercury Readings,” was held on Saturday afternoon and featured Margaret Talbot, a staff writer at the “New Yorker” magazine.
Her latest book is titled: “The Entertainer: Movie, Magic and My Father’s Twentieth Century.” She was followed by Angela Pelster-Wiebe.
She teaches creative writing at Towson University and has “a new book of essays on trees coming out.”
The writings from inmates serving time in the Maryland prison system were also spotlighted. Their works were read by the actress Genevieve de Mahy from the “Single Carrot Theater,” and Joseph Crespo, a local writer. John Barry and Mikita Brottman served as co-hosts for the program.
The literary happening was staged at “The Windup Space”, on North Avenue, in Baltimore, Maryland.
