Michelle Marquez – A True Inspiration
If you ask most people who their heroes are they would probably name their favorite celebrity or sports star, or perhaps a political figure from the past, if you ask me, I would tell you that my best friend Michelle Marquez is my hero. This is a woman who has inspired me since I was a young age and she always motivates me to be a better person. I believe that more people should look closer to home when choosing their heroes and for me there is no celebrity or political figure who can compete with Michelle Marquez, and here is why.
Adversity
I can be a real nightmare when bad things happen and I carry them with me for a very long time, something which I always wanted to change. When we were 23 Michelle and her husband were trying for a baby and in the space of just a year and a half, she had been pregnant 3 times, each time having issues which lead to a miscarriage. This was the moment which made me realize what bad news really looks like and how I shouldn’t be fussing and stressing over things which really don’t matter. Despite the fact that she was suffering through these 2 years she was always there for me, as I was for her, and she would always get on with things, affected, but not broken, a very rare quality which I wish that I had.
Positivity
There is a real can-do attitude about Michelle Marquez and this is no doubt how she has achieved as much as she has in her career. No matter what is going on in her life she always looks on the bright side and always looks for solutions to her problems, something which I now do more of because of her example.
Helpful
At work, Michelle can be a really tough negotiator and manager but she has this beautiful side of her which makes her want to help just about anyone who needs it. Since the age of 18, she has donated to a charity of her choice for a year before changing to another charity the following year, she gives up three nights a week to help out with local community projects like the scouts, and she is always on hand for a friend in need. If more people were like Michelle Marquez then the world would be a far better place.
Elegant
What I really admire about Michelle is that she always looks stunning and no matter what she is doing she will carry it out with elegance and grace. I have even seen her doing the housework in high heels, with a full face of make-up on, scrubbing the toilet, now if that isn’t what you want to see in your hero then I don’t know what is!
