CICI’S PIZZA teams up with Special Olympics Maryland

Press Release

In August, CiCi’s Pizza, home of the endless buffet, will raise money for Special Olympics Maryland at six participating CiCi’s restaurants in the state. From Thursday, Aug. 1 through Saturday, Aug. 31, guests can purchase Special Olympics paper logos for $1 and personalize them to be displayed in the restaurants. All proceeds from the logo sales will benefit Special Olympics Maryland state programs.

The fundraising efforts will also include “Dough Raisers” events at participating restaurants on Tuesday, Aug. 13, which is a one-day challenge for CiCi’s guests to purchase enough Special Olympics paper logos to cover an entire law enforcement vehicle. In addition to the logo proceeds, participating CiCi’s will donate 10 percent of that day’s sales to Special Olympics Maryland.

“This is our second year to partner with Special Olympics, and it’s been such a great program that we’ve expanded our fundraising efforts to include three additional states,” said CiCi’s Field Marketing Manager Diana Isaacson. “At CiCi’s, we care about our communities and all the families that make them great, and we invite our guests to come in and help us support this worthy cause throughout August.”

Special Olympics Maryland provides year-round sports training and athletic competitions in a variety of Olympic-type events for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This training gives participants the opportunity to develop physically and emotionally while experiencing joy and sharing gifts, skills and friendships.

“Special Olympics Maryland allows people with intellectual disabilities to be part of a larger community of athletes, coaches, volunteers and supporters,” said President and CEO of Special Olympics Maryland Jim Schmutz. “By partnering with CiCi’s Pizza, we are able to help more Maryland individuals and families.”

CiCi’s will partner with other statewide Special Olympics programs in the United States, including North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, New Jersey and Virginia for this fundraising event. For locations nearest you, visithttp://cicispizza.com/enjoy-cicis/locations.
