Baltimore-based Native Americans launch Pow Wow with Grand Entry
Native Americans from in and around Baltimore and from as far away as Cleveland, Ohio, came together Saturday to celebrate their 42nd annual Pow Wow.
It was held in Union Hall on the campus of Towson University. It was an all day event running from 11 am to 7 pm. It featured various cultural presentations; gorgeous colored native outfits; along with music, singing, drum-beating, dancing and vendors too. The event was sponsored by the Baltimore American Indian Center, which is located in Fells Point.
The joy-filled Pow Wow program opened up with a “Grand Entry.” It was led by a color guard of Vietnam War Veterans; followed by dancers, both male and female, including youngsters.
A capacity crowd was on hand to celebrate and enliven the spirited program.
