Adam Ferrari on the Benefits of Traveling the World

Did you know that traveling the world is not just something that can give you a fun trip, there is also a wide range of benefits which you can count on when you do so. After college, my buddy Adam Ferrari and I embarked on a  big tour around Europe and North Africa, and it is something which more and more people are doing these days. Further than just having a great time, travel offers you way more advantages and benefits which you can expect.

Opening Your Eyes

When you step outside the bubble which we live in at home and get out into the world, you will be opening your eyes to new cultures, lifestyles and communities. In doing this and seeing these things you will start to reflect more on your own life and it helps to put many things into perspective. It can be easy to think that your life is the most important thing, especially when you are living in your own world back home, heading out into the world will show you that there are more important things than many of those issues which you worry about.

Health

Travel is actually beneficial for your health and there are a couple of reasons why traveling will help to boost your health. The first example to give is that when you travel you expose yourself to many new viruses and bacterias, in doing this your body will then build up a stronger immune system in order to combat these bacterias, which leaves you a stronger person. Secondly when you travel you are generally much more active then what you are when you are living your normal life back home. You will be walking more and getting involved in more activities which can significantly help you to lose some weight and feel better about yourself.

Empathy

Many things are out of sight and out of mind which makes sense when you go traveling however you are going to see much more of the world, especially those who are struggling. This can help you to grow more empathy and understand what hardship many people face. It can be easy to think that our lives are the most important but seeing what some people have to go through and suffer is something that will change your outlook on negative issues.

Friendships

Something which I really enjoyed about going traveling was the friendships that I made, many of whom I am still friends with today. When you are on the road you meet people from all walks of life, and from different backgrounds to your own, you will bond over shared interests and ultimately you will have the chance to meet people who you probably wouldn’t have met back at home.

Traveling is good for the mind, body, and soul and it is something that I recommend everyone do at least once in their life.
