5 Most Romantic Spots in the US
After spending many days on the road with my partner traveling the U.S. We decided to compile a list of the most memorable and romantic spots we’ve ever visited.
What drove us to dive deep through old pictures, memories, and romance?
For one it was fun taking a stroll down memory lane, but secondly, all our friends kept asking us! Now, that I’ve traveled to nearly every state, our friends keep asking, what’s the most romantic spot?!
While my partner and I both agreed to narrow it to a single spot was just way to difficult. We were able to bring it down to 5 of our favorite spots for love birds alike.
You might be thinking Las Vegas or New York, while these were very fun, wild, and sexy; they are not what we pictured from a romance standpoint.
What we love is slightly less crowded, noisy, and away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Somewhere you can sit down and become more intimate with your lover.
Without further ado, let’s dive into the most romantic spots you can visit without traveling abroad.
#1 Boothbay Harbor, MAINE
Not what you were expecting? Use either… We rolled through this town with no agenda on our list. We knew the water would be romantic, but this quiet New England fishing village was the perfect place to get lost with your lover.
Tucked in the rocky shores of the Atlantic Ocean, there is so much to do with your lover. You can go on romantic bike rides, you’ll find freshly baked blueberry pie and all kinds of water wildlife!
I can see a romantic lobster dinner for two in your near future?!
#2 Portland, Oregon
OK, we all know Portland is known for its whacky residents, heck they are very proud of it! But most tend to miss just how romantic it can be!
It has beautiful cobblestone streets. All the streets have tasty cafes and restaurants. Sip your coffee in the morning sunrise, or your wine in the even sunset.
Bike around the city or walk in the beautiful wilderness that surrounds Portland. The nature is so unique and beautiful. Truly nothing like it in the United States!
#3 Newport Rhode Island
Definitely a haul for us from the Midwest but it was totally worth it!
Newport is a cute city by the sea with everything you need. Stroll for long walks along the rocky shoreline. Admire the amazing houses that overlook the sea.
Did someone say wine? Yes, Newport has some amazing vineyards to sip a glass of wine by the fire. Food? Talk about the best seafood on the East coast! What more could you ask for?
#4 Mount Rainier National Park, Washington
This is located about 60 miles southeast of Seattle. We ended up camping here a couple of days, and when it was time to go my partner and I were so sad. It was some of the most jaw-dropping nature we have seen to date!
I’m talking volcano mountains, 14,000 feet above sea level. Beautiful snow-capped glaciers and romantic cabins tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life!
#5 Estes Park, Colorado
Recommended by a friend who worked the resort for a summer, we drove through here on the way back from the west coast. It’s located near the entrance to the rocky mountain national park.
It’s a unique romantic outdoorsy getaway. With a super romantic downtown square that has old-fashioned candy stores, antique and vintage stores, cafes to sip your coffee, and art galleries.
Plus, lots of local breweries and wineries! Wine, Dine, and…
Romantic getaway Tips:
