Trader Vic’s Munich: Immersive decor, intoxicating drinks
Just around the corner from Hofbrauhaus, in the Hotel Bayerischer Hof, is one of the oldest Trader Vic’s tiki bars in the world. It opened in time for Munich’s 1972 Olympic Games, and is immaculately themed throughout, with tons of vintage tiki artifacts.
They also pour extremely strong drinks there! Agent M and I both started with a Mai Tai, a classic drink composed mostly of rum. I then moved onto the Munich Sour, which was too citrus-y for my taste, while Agent M had the Navy Grog, which is also probably 90% rum. Unfortunately, she’s a lightweight and was drunk before she even started that one, so I ended up having to finish most of it!
