Congratulations to Baltimore for putting on a first-class marathon race

Sights from the 13th annual Baltimore’s Running Festival. One of the toughest marathons because of its hills. Congrats to all the runners and supporters. The race features 27,000 runners representing all 50 states and 12 countries. Last year the race had a $38.6 million economic impact and generated $1.7 millions raised for charity. Similar numbers are expected this year.

David Berdan, a 32-year-old science teacher and cross country coach at Garrison Forest, became the first local champion in the 13 years of the Baltimore Running Festival. The race didn’t draw the elite runners from the past because no prize money was offered so the race was a little slower than previous years. Last year Kenyan Stephen Muange won it in 2:13.08.

See you next year!
