Peggy Hesson
Peggy Hesson

Peggy Hesson (1923-2022) graduated from Forest Park High School in Baltimore with the class of 1941, and Moody Bible Institute in Chicago with the class of 1944. She married Richard Warren Hesson in September, 1944 and they returned to Chicago, where she supported him until his graduation from Wheaton College in 1945. Together they moved to New Jersey while her husband attended Princeton Theological Seminary. They began their ministry and pastored churches in Baltimore, Long Island New York, and New Jersey, before settling at Great Valley Presbyterian Church in Valley Forge, PA.
Peggy loved being a pastor’s wife and they served together at Great Valley from 1956 until her husband’s sudden death in 1961. As a young widow raising four children, she moved to Maryland, where she began her own ministry. Peggy taught Elementary School, Ladies Bible Class, Pioneer Girls, Arlington Bible Institute, Christian Women’s Club, and various other bible teaching ministries. She worked for over 40 years at Arlington Baptist Church with a ministry of visiting, counseling, and teaching. In her later years, her ministry became praying for anyone at any time, especially for her family.
Peggy was saved as a teenager; and throughout her life her total focus was Jesus, her Savior- and leading people to Him. In various and unique ways, she was used by the Lord to comfort and bless and touch many lives. Her four children and their spouses were blessed to call her Mom.
