AA

yea I know I got problems

but who said I want to solve them

just cause you can go on and point ’em out

doesn’t change the fact you’re the one i needed out

I’m keeping score in this argument

not so we know who will lose or win

every insult I breathe it in

forgive, forget, but then I’m referencing

every little word

from your pretty little mouth

when I’m staring at my phone

and I still can’t figure out

how I got up to the point

where I wanna make a call

to the person who I miss

but they don’t think of me at all

ain’t that pathetic

a man held down to some digits that aren’t present

this isn’t love

it’s her guest list

and I’m not even the number one preference

I keep the ring on low

and lose sleep to know

a call ain’t coming in

dreams are my medicine

it’s a place to hide

from the morning light

when that feeling sinks in

I doubt you’re alone in bed

Chorus

I know I’m better off

on my own

You’d clearly rather be

on your own

but you keep coming back

on your own

I make the call

you run back home

I don’t blame me for trying

I  don’t hate you for lying

we just need to be

all alone

on our own

I don’t know why you answered

I don’t know why i sent it

but your quick reply

catches my eye

concern in your tone

convo postponed

she sleeping over the next night

interrupted by the cell light

see the master in action

its familiar reactions

I didn’t have my phone

I didn’t see the call

yes I’m alone

she drifts down the hall

that’s when I see it

my future is the past

shes smiles for no reason

I’m afraid to ask

chorus

I keep the ring on low

and lose sleep to know

a call ain’t coming in

dreams are my medicine

it’s a place to hide

from the morning light

when that feeling sinks in

I doubt you’re alone in bed

chorus
