From the Skies to the Silver Screen: A Journey of Leadership, Learning, and Filmmaking
Born on November 28, 1966, in Irumbuzhi, Malappuram Dt, Kerala, India, Suresh Kumar Kariparamban is a seasoned Indian air veteran, filmmaker, and an IT professional. Suresh’s professional career spans across various domains.
He completed his graduation from MSP High School Malappuram in 1982 and Intermediate Studies from UP Board, Allahabad, in 1987. Next, he went to Punjab University, Chandigarh, for higher education, where he earned a BA in English in 1990 – and later, an MA in Political Science in 1996.
In 1999, Suresh showed interest in the Study of Law and went to Saurashtra University, Rajkot, successfully completing his LLB. He completed his MBA in Human Resources from the Indira Gandhi National Open University in 2003. He also holds an MPhil degree in management from Periyar University, which he obtained in 2006.
In 1984, Suresh began his professional career in the Indian Air Force after graduating from MSP High School in Malappuram. Following a year of military training at the Administrative Training Institute of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in Belgaum, he was posted to an equipment depot in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, under the Maintenance Command. Notably, his tenure included a posting at the Ambala Air Force Station under the Western Air Command.
His achievements led him to his next posting at TACDE (Tactics and Air Combat Development Establishment) to support the high-profile training of the top 1% of fighter pilots of the Indian Air Force under the South Western Air Command.
During the Kargil War, Suresh Kariparamban showed extraordinary dedication and courage. He moved with his unit to an undisclosed location near the Pakistan border in Jaisalmer District, Rajasthan, supporting the IAF operations of the MIG 27 fleet.
His role in these life-threatening operations continued until the victory was declared on July 26, 1999. Following the victory, he took on a peaceful mission, joining the Tamil Nadu (Tech) Air Wing NCC. In this capacity, he conducted NCC training for the Air Wing NCC cadets in several high schools and colleges affiliated with the Air Wing Technical NCC unit in Salem, Erode, Coimbatore, and Namakkal districts of Tamil Nadu.
After dedicating a fair share of his career to the Indian Air Force, Suresh moved towards the education sector and served as a visiting professor and research guide. He worked as a visiting professor at Central Law College Salem under Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, where he taught ‘International Law’ and ‘Interpretation of Statutes.’
In addition to his role at Central Law College, Suresh was also a visiting faculty member at the Indian Institute of Material Management (IIMM) Bangalore. Later, he became a research guide for MBA students at Bangalore University and IIMM Bangalore and Mumbai locations.
In May 2004, Suresh decided to explore the technical side. He began his IT (Information Technology) journey when he joined the Indian Air Force at Equipment Depot in Bangalore as a civilian – where he secured the first rank in all India competitive tests conducted by the Indian Air Force. Tasked with working on IMMOLS, an Enterprise Resource Planning system developed by TCS, he showed his expertise in the IT field. Continuing as a civilian in the Indian Air Force until October 2007,
Suresh joined Siemens India as an SAP Material Management certification trainer. He later became an SAP module lead and project lead at Wipro. During his tenure at Wipro, he worked on several SAP projects for companies like Federal-Mogul Corporation and Whirlpool Corporation in Michigan, Apple Inc. in California, and Philips in Ohio.
In January 2014, Suresh moved to San Diego, California, where he worked as a lead SAP consultant and Project Manager at Sony Electronics under Wipro. Next, he switched and moved to United Software Group Inc. and the Medical and Pharma divisions of Cardinal Health in association with Tata Consultancy Services. In 2017, Suresh explored the entertainment industry and worked in filmmaking.
He connected with the Indian director Suresh Kumar from the Malayalam film industry. He earned the role of the producer of the Malayalam movie ‘Krithi.’ The film’s shooting, which was completed in November 2018, faced administrative challenges and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. It was later released in Kerala theaters on March 03, 2023.
Suresh is currently working in Capgemini as a Senior Application Consultant for more than a year. He is married to Sheeja Suresh. The couple has two daughters, Shweta Suresh, a postgraduate in data science from Newcastle University, and Sheetal Suresh, an MBBS student in Bangalore.
