Southern Harford County Rotary Foundation Hosts Prom Pop-Up Boutique

Edgewood, MD – The Southern Harford County Rotary (SHCR) hosted a successful Prom Pop-Up Boutique on March 14, 2024, for students at Joppatowne High School. The event provided over 200 new and gently used formal clothing items to students, free of charge.
The clothing selection at the Prom Pop-Up Boutique was made possible through generous donations from the Harford County community. SHCR members collected dresses, suits, tuxedos, shoes, and accessories throughout the months leading up to the event.

“We are so grateful for the outpouring of support from our community,” said Sarah Ortiz-Brown, President of the Southern Harford County Rotary Club. “Thanks to their donations, Joppatowne students were able to find the perfect outfit for prom night without any financial burden.”

The Prom Pop-Up Boutique provided a welcoming and positive environment for students to browse the clothing selection and receive assistance from SHCR volunteers. The event ensured that all Joppatowne students have the opportunity to attend prom and celebrate this special occasion with confidence.

The mission of Southern Harford County Rotary Foundation is to assist the children in Southern Harford County (Joppa, Edgewood, Belcamp and Abingdon areas), as a group or through their families, to reach their maximum potential.
