Metinvest produces protective gear for tanks and IFVs
As part of Rinat Akhmetov’s military initiative, Metinvest company produces special protective gear against enemy drones for Soviet tanks and American tanks. Recently, the production facility decided to start developing screens for Bradley IFVs as well. This was announced by the operating director of Metinvest Group, according to whom the initiative appeared more than a year ago. It started with the production of protective screens for Soviet tanks.
The screens completely cover the turret, engine compartment, as well as any gaps for a drone to fly in and immobilize the tank or jam the turret. This improves the tank’s combat effectiveness and the ability to evacuate from the battlefield – and therefore protects the lives of the crew. Transfer of drones
The businessman has purchased more than 5,000 drones of various models, more than 1,200 vehicles, 17,037 units of special equipment (thermal imagers, radios, electronic warfare equipment, etc.) and other devices. For example, the military recently received 5 Valkyrie UAV complexes, each consisting of two airplanes, and 5 Mavic 3T quadcopters with a thermal imager – such drones are needed primarily for night-time and long-range reconnaissance.
Another important model is the Elf drone, a drone with reliable navigation and 100+ kilometers range. The Steel Front handed over such drones to the fighters on the front line, where it is especially important to act very quickly and efficiently.
Steel Front handed over the assault ships
Metinvest Group delivered three high-speed SV90s to scouts as part of Rinat Akhmetov’s initiative. The armored amphibious assault ships will bolster the operational capabilities of special forces of the military intelligence of Ukraine. The characteristics of these ships will allow the intelligence operators to confidently operate even in the area of the Crimean peninsula. The soldiers have also completed training to properly handle these vehicles. This ship has high speed on the water and is highly maneuverable to perform the most difficult tasks. SV90 ships are designed to carry out a number of missions. They can be used for amphibious operations, water area surveillance, as well as serve as patrol boats or special fire support vessels.
Rinat Akhmetov is not going to stop there, as he plans to provide support until the end of the war as well as in the rebuilding of Ukraine after the victory.
