Greater Salt Lake Area Benefits From Nearby Elevations RTC
With an estimated population of around 1.2 million, the Salt Lake City metropolitan area continues to grow at a fast rate. When areas start to explode population-wise, there is a need for different types of services nearby.
Since opening the doors, Elevations RTC has strived to be the best residential treatment center not only in the area but in the United States. Elevations RTC has greatly benefited the area, as families become more and more open to sending their child away to receive guidance, support, and more while overcoming challenges.
Close, but so far
For a residential treatment center to succeed, a teenager must remain at the center and focus on any issues holding them back. That is why many locations are in secluded areas, and Elevations RTC is no different. The center is only a 30-minute drive north of Salt Lake City, but Syracuse, Utah, can feel like another world. That is by design, as students get the opportunity to develop their own community during their time.
This does not mean that students have no access to Salt Lake City. There are opportunities to visit for a variety of reasons. Not only is there opportunities for students to get involved in the community, but other activities can take place in the city.
Creating a unique community for students
One of the reasons Elevations is unique is that they create their own small community with students to give them the type of attention that they need. The set up of the campus encourages students to interact with each other at all hours of the day. If students do not want to be alone, they do not have to be. At the same time, there is enough space for them to get some time to themselves once in a while.
It takes time in some instances, but the goal is to get students to open up to one another and help each other passively. This might be the first time that a person talks about some of their struggles with a peer. Everyone else at Elevations can relate to a certain degree, which makes it such a unique opportunity.
The Salt Lake City community loves this aspect of the program. It is one of the reasons why it is ranked so highly in the region. While not exclusive to those living in the area, it is a nice option for those who do not want to send their child too far away. The program’s distance is still well within driving range for any emergencies, but they still have a level of independence to break away. It also is convenient to stop by and visit from time to time when Elevations families are here for a visit.
Why Elevations stresses a community feel
It can be a challenging time for any teenager heading to Elevations. While the goal is to receive quality help and assistance to get on track, there is something very scary about going to a new place without knowing anyone.
This is not a unique problem for students, which is why the community is such a major focus. Coming together as one can be very beneficial for learning about the different issues people go through while working on individual problems as well. There are a lot of people who have had issues in the past, and getting help can come from many different angles. Teachers, therapists, specialists, and medical professionals at Elevations RTC certainly help, but talking to a peer can be extremely beneficial as well. Improvement is genuinely a group effort in so many cases.
