Dachstein Ice Cave: Obertraun, Austria
On our last day in Obertraun, my mother and I took a trip up the mountain (the same one that could be seen out of our hotel room window) in a gondola to see the Dachstein Ice Cave! My mom is afraid of heights, so she wasn’t thrilled about the whole gondola thing. Then once we got up there we had to take a fairly strenuous 20 minute uphill walk to get to the mouth of the cave. But it was worth it, because the ice cave was very cool (pun intended – seriously it was really cold in there)!
