Book Talk: Rafael Alvarez and Dean Smith energize readers in Baltimore

Authors Rafael Alvarez and Dean Smith read from their respective books Jan. 8 and then engaged in a lively Q & A session with the audience in the Poe Room of the Central Pratt Library in Baltimore.
Smith’s book covers the Baltimore Ravens’ championship season, 2012-13, and its effect on the fans and the city. (“Never Easy, Never Pretty: A Fan, A City, A Championship Season”). Alvarez’s tome, “Tales from the the Holy Land,” focuses on a host of Baltimore-based characters and their secret histories.
