Justin Timberlake releases new single ‘Take Back the Night’

First there was “Suit & Tie.” Then there was “Mirrors. ”

If you haven’t caught on yet, these were the two singles leading up to the release of Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience.

And today marks the next milestone in our collective 20/20 experience with the release of Timberlake’s latest track, “Take Back the Night.”

Timberlake whetted our appetites with a Bob Dylan inspired teaser video for the single a few days ago, and has followed through with the perfect track to start off your weekend. Teaming up with long time collaborator Timbaland, the track delivers everything we have come to love from JT’s music. The song’s production responsibilities are also shared by Jerome “J-Roc” Harmon, and is the first single from the second portion of The 20/20 Experience due out September 30.

“Take Back the Night” continues this summer’s disco revival trend, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll need an addition to your summer playlist that consists only of Daft Punk’s perfect “Get Lucky” on constant repeat. So just as Timberlake sings “I wanna do something right / but we can do something better,” step your Friday night up with this song.

Be sure to check out Timberlake when he performs at M&T Stadium August 8 with Jay Z on the Legends of Summer Tour.
