Fire breaks out in Pemco warehouse in S.E. Baltimore

Fire burns through the vacant Pemco warehouse in southeast Baltimore City. The 2-story brick structure, which was about to be demolished, once housed a porcelain factory. Nearly fifty firefighters were called to the scene at Eastern Ave. & Bayard Blvd.  No fatalities were reported, however several streets in the area were closed.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Baltimore Post-Examiner Staff

Baltimore Post-Examiner is run by several journalists – some who worked at the Washington Post, Baltimore Examiner and other regional and national publications. It’s the Post-Examiner because we love the play on the word “Post” but we also are hoping to answer that question: What’s next after newspapers? We see a lot of websites come and go – and many simply are not making it for various reasons. We hope to break that cycle. Contact the author.
